# Dr. Jens Richter

> A Physicist in Mind, Developer by Heart, Engineer by Passion. CEO of DNA Evolutions and a hands-on engineer who builds JOpt, a Java route-optimization engine.

## About
Dr. Jens Richter (Dr.-Ing.) was born in Dresden, raised in Leverkusen, and lives
in Eschweiler near Aachen. A trained physicist, he now leads and builds
route-optimization software, turning chaotic real-world logistics into feasible,
optimal tours. He holds a PhD from RWTH Aachen in silicon photonics.

## Work
- **CEO of DNA Evolutions GmbH** (since 2026; Senior Java Engineer → Partner →
  Co-CEO → CEO, and still writes the Java).
- **JOpt**: a Java route/tour optimization engine. Handles vehicle routing, time
  windows, skills, hard constraints and multi-day planning; delivered natively in
  Java and as Spring WebFlux REST services.
